CVHS Vanguard Magnet Program
The CVHS Vanguard Magnet Program offers a rigorous, multidisciplinary education designed to challenge and inspire high-achieving students. Our curriculum emphasizes advanced academics, leadership development, and intellectual curiosity.
All students are enrolled in Pre-AP and AP courses in the core subjects, with a wide range of advanced electives available to support their individual interests and academic goals.
Our program is built to nurture giftedness across disciplines while encouraging growth in both scholarship and leadership. Each year, students' progress through increasingly challenging coursework and a structured AP pathway. Beginning in 11th grade, students participate in a dedicated research course, selecting a topic of personal interest and working closely with teachers and mentors. This culminates in either a formal research paper or a final product.
By the end of the program, students will have completed:
-
At least 9 AP courses (TPSP pathway)
-
At least 11 AP courses (AP Research pathway)
To maintain the high academic standards of our program, students must take all courses through CVHS. External or summer courses are not permitted without prior approval from a counselor, as these options do not match the rigor of CVHS’s full-year instruction.
Students and families should be prepared to fully commit to our curriculum and complete all required coursework on campus.
