Admissions Update for the 2025–2026 Application Cycle
Thank you for your interest in Carnegie Vanguard High School.
Please note that campus tours for this school year have concluded, and the application deadline for the upcoming school year was February 27.
At this time, we are no longer offering additional tours or accepting new applications for the current admissions cycle.
To help prospective families learn more about our program, we encourage you to explore the informational videos available on our website, which provide an overview of our academic program, student opportunities, and campus life.

- Opens: December 9, 2025
- Closes: February 27, 2026
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, students must meet all three of the following criteria:
- Gifted and Talented Identification
Recognized as Gifted and Talented (GT) by Houston ISD. - Magnet Matrix Score
Score 80 or higher on the Magnet Matrix - Residency
Live within HISD school district boundaries
Grade Levels Accepted
- Only accepting applications for 9th and 10th grades
Lottery Results
- Release Date: April 8, 2026
- Where: Viewable on your School Choice dashboard
